yes, i can bake people

A few years back, a friend of mine forwarded an email asking me to join a competition called the Nescafe Kick Start Programme. I was at that point of time on my semester break and had nothing better to do at home. So i decided to join in just coz, i thought i might fill in some of my free time. The programme basically requires you to set up your own business (anything at all that you prefer). So i did some research online, and start writing down some business plans. Everything else just comes into place. As at that point of time, cupcakes were really popular and well, i was thinking that I'm pretty good at baking, so why not..

The programme lasted for over 3 months which sadly was not as long as the semester break. After 2 months of perfecting my bakery skills (yeah, i might be exaggerating a little bit) and of trying to get my friend to vote, semester reopens and i had to get back to class. SADLY.

But on the bright side, as i was really passionate about the whole starting up a bakery business, every weekends i would bake a few batch of cupcakes and sell it to my friend on Monday. Made a few bucks out of it, but as time was nearing to exams and more assignments had to be submitted, i gave up baking. And also because of that, i didnt have any time to ask for more votes from my friendss. The thing is with competitions with voting system is that you will lose once people stopped voting for you, which was the exact case for me.

tadaaa!!!the first batch of cupcakes.. i thought it looks adorable ..

Nevertheless, i never stopped liking and learning how to bake. I was at my aunt's house to watch football and dinner one night when she popped out this incredibly cute looking box which look like a cosmetic box and out came this round, colourful looking things. She said they're called the macaroons. But are pronounced as "ma-ca-rons" by the Parisian. First bite of it was absolutely heaven. The outer layer of it is smooth and crispy just like an egg shell. The inner filling is delicate and moist, sweeter then the outer coat. Trust me, if you have a sweet tooth, these would be one of your favourites. These macaroons are made from beaten egg whites, said Aunt Hasni when i asked her what was the ingredients.HAH! who knew egg whites could be so yummy?

notice the box, yes.. laduree's macaroons comes with stylish and cute boxes too~
