Happy Father'S Day Abah!

I think I have a love hate relationship with my dad. He could really drive me up the walls sometimes.I think the reason to that lies beneath the fact that he knows all of his children all to well. Which again, really bugs me.

Take this morning for instance, I woke up early at 6 am (which i don't usually do), pick up the pail and a sponge, pour some soap into the pail and went to the foyer to wash my car because it was frighteningly dirty (and also due to the fact that I'm going out to see Adi after work today).
So and then, my dad comes out in his kain pelekat and doubtful face that i recognised so much and started asking me this
"Kenapa Ara cuci kereta pagi pagi ni?" (20x)
that means, why am i washing my car, for twenty times.

I could have asnwer his question politely by just saying something like this
"Because, i wanna go to work in a clean car".
Which i did after the first time he asked me the question.

But knowing my dad, he.. my dear friends, is not the type that would be satisfied until he gets to the bottom of the mystery of why her lazy ass daughter would wake up early in the morning to wash her car.
So, he buckle up his kain pelekat, marched towards me and stared at me as I was scrubbing the bird poop out of my white Persona.
Then he begins again..."Are you going out tonight?"
ArgGgHhHhH!!!!@@#!$#%@^

First and fore most: I hate it when he's right. It feels like someone just
shot me straight in the head.
Secondly : My dad is always right, he's like this creepy mental analyst.
Thirdly : Can someone just shoot me in the head for real this time?

Arghhh!!

HOW DID HE EQUATE...

You see, that's probably why being the third child isn't so much fun after all. I think, after messing up and experimenting with the first and second child, parents tend to know the tricks and trade with the third child. And who can blame them right? After all, parents do wants their best for their kids.

Anyways, before I continue on with the story...Let em tell you a secret of how to recognise a person who is trying to lie or hide something.

#1. He/She tends to scream or his/her voice will get extremely pitchy.
(Why is this so? Probably because he/she is trying to hide a certain hesitation or perhaps the lie itself )
#2. He/she never look him in the eye
(This also, is to avoid unwanted confrontations and to help the person being lied to realise he/she ie the liar is making up a story)

note: by writing he/she I'm actually referring to myself. Don't know about everyone else. I'm just terrible at lying.

the story continues...

So as he was trying to unveil the mystery of me washing the car this morning, i was trying to hide the truth by doing tricks #1 and #2.

Until, 20 minutes later, my brother.. Sharul, comes out of the house and said
"Nak pegi dating je kene basuh kereta"
Keep in mind that my dad was still at the corner watering the plants whilst waiting to solve his mystery.

Babysialbodonhbangangbabibabibabibabibabi........!!!!
I forgot that i told my younger brother yesterday that i couldn't pick him up after work because i was going out later.

Babi aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!

So there it is, he got to solve his mystery.

I swear if i could hear his thoughts he must be laughing his evil laugh at me. SIGH!!!

Wait, the story isn't finish yet...

Believe it or not, after the mystery was solved (or after my brother kantoi-ed me)
he not only left me alone and stop bugging me, he even left 30 bucks on the breakfast table for me to go out after work tonight.
I personally think he did that just to make fun of me (more like patronising me je)
But nola, he's just sweet and weird all at the same time in that sense.

Morale of the story : don't try to lie to you parents. They're way smarter then you think.heheh

love you abah

i wanna be ...

once upon a time when i was just a little child i wanted to be a....

most kids would probably answer the most common answers there are. For example a doctor, lawyer, architect, models,singer,actress.. and things like that. yeah, so i think i was just like that...
I remember when i was just 8 and i really wanted to be a singer. I do! i cant remember why exactly... but i just love performing. well that's one thing most people don't know about me.

But try to think of it, it was really my dad who influenced and cultivated the love and interest for music that is in me. My dad. hmm he is a very complicated person to describe. But his taste for music is incredible. When my little brother was born, like most babies, he had trouble sleeping at night.. and so what my dad would usually told me or my older brother to go back to our backyard and pick a few daun sirih and put some minyak angin and paste it to his tummy. Then, he would play a nice soothing classic keroncong music and a little less then 10 minutes later, my baby brother will fall soundly asleep. And i think it was then that i really started to love classical songs.

and talk about music, my dad didn't even stop there... i mean other then playing the classics, like ABBA and the Beatles, John Lennon, Janis whats her name again?, hmm Janis Joplin, yeah. and well many others.. he can, once upon a time ago played the organ and the piano. Once when i was little and we went to Johore for a vacation, he stopped at this musical instrument store and bought an ANGKLONG! Do you know what that is? the easiest way i could describe it, is that it is made from bamboo sticks and it made a klong klong klong sound. heheh. i used to love playing it at home. i mean its just like the piano, whereby the sounds are different based on the normal do re mi notes. But its just smaller and much more easier to play with.

So when i grew a little older, he introduced me to other singers like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion and even Lucianno Pavarotti who sings at the opera. hmm but i didn't like all the screaming and so i just stick to Mariah and Celine. AHA.
so after school when there was no one else at home except for my younger brother and the maid, i would go up to my parents' room, put on a mariah tape on the radio, and plugged the mic and i went singing in front of the closet mirror like a mad little person. one song after the other and even tho my vocals was super bad, i still went singing. i would imagine being on a stage with audience listening and with bands playing at back and someone would climb on the stage and pass me flowers and stuff... LOL. YEAH.. i was quiet the performer in my own world back then. I REALLY DID LOVE SINGING.

and then, one day, i went to school and i heard that they needed singers for the children's day performances. And as quickly as i can, i look for a phone booth, dialled up my dad's number at the office and asked him if i could join the show. and he said "sure, why not". And when i came home, i went straight to the Mariah collections and picked a song. and i remember the exact song that i picked. it was "My All"...Oh what an awesome song that is. at the end of the week, i was all prepared vocally and the best thing is that my mum even went to toys r us and bought me a princess dress for the performance. At school, i walked proudly with my princess dress and my tape. My buddy Geetha was also taking part and shes singing a Madonna's song called Frozen. so we waited next to the stage quietly and nervously and held each other's hand. When it was my turn, i got on stage and looked at the waiting crowd. It wasn't an auditorium or anything. It was just a crummy school hall with teachers and students as my audience. And so i opened my mouth, started singing. at the end of my performance i got a big clap and i just felt GREAT!!! i loved performing.. loved it.

suddenly, by the end of my primary school days, i think i was performing quiet allot. There was the "Bagaikan puteri" show.. where i became a princess and was singing bagaikan puteri and at the end of the song my fellow classmate went down on his knee and gave me a rose.. HAHAH that was nice.. and there was the Seniman P-Ramlee week when we performed "Aci Achi Buka Pintu" a true classic based on the p-ramlee film: Nasib Si Labu Labi and i had to wear a purple fancy Saree.. and there were 5 ghosts at the back played my other classmates and P-ramlee was played by my long time friend now, Azaad Muhammad. Oh boy! trying to think of it... arh rindu!!!!

Then, when the boy band era arrived..oh boy!! we had so much fun practising cool dancing moves after school. everybody had their favourite boy band. Mine was Nsync. and i heearrttt Justin Timberlake. Either it was his blond curly hair or his heart melting smile, or the fact that he dated Britney Spears.. I WAS JUST SO INTO HIM. hehehhe and I'm sure back then everyone or every girl had a crush on some guy from a boy band.

oh my god, don't i love music back then.. it was like a phenomenon. there must be a column in the "Biodata Book" which was quiet popular back then that says "MY FAVOURITE BAND" OR "MY FAVOURITE SINGER" OR "MY FAVOURITE ARTIST". whatever u call it, everyone had it in school. Pop artist was the in trend back then. And i don't know if kids these days still does it, i mean the whole being fanatic about something thing lah... but im sure they do. I saw the other day in my 11 year old niece's room pictures and posters of MileY Cyrus, Selena Gomez and i don't know who else.. oh oh the current favourite i think is Justin Bieber. ahhaha when my niece talked about him to me.. i just cant help thinking of my good old Justin Timberlake days... awwwee...

oh well, nowadays i think my musical interest are little bit more universal compare to those days.. back then i was the classics, then pop, then punk rock through out high school (oh i lovvvveee Green Day n No Doubt n Incubus back then..) and now.. its just normal easy to hear songs.. I think i just got lame and too busy to carry on with my musical interest any longer... Universal is the way to go.

Hopefully I'll regain my interest soon when i have the time and resources and by that i mean (money!!!) to go out and buy Cd's and stuff.. Hey, any interest don't go cheap ya? hahahha till then, Rock On!
